PURPOSE
We are looking for a technically skilled and experienced Stores Manager to oversee the full operation of our warehouse and stores facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining efficient stores operations, managing staff, ensuring accurate stock control, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and equipment management. Customer requirements are met effectively and efficiently in order to maintain customer service levels. In addition, to continuously strive for improvement of methods and systems.
This position requires a hands-on manager with strong technical knowledge of warehouse operations, lifting equipment, barcoding systems, and logistics coordination
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
JOB OBJECTIVE(S)
Responsible for the efficient, cost-effective execution of all operations related to maintaining a workflow of incoming and outgoing parts.
As a Stores Manager you are responsible to ensure that all stores’ staff are performing in their respective areas, i.e. receiving, packaging, storage, quality inspections, order filling and shipping of parts to ELB Branches, workshops, dealers, and customers to support the end users.
MAIN TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
To accomplish these objectives, they will perform a variety of core tasks, these duties include and are not limited to:
- Manage the overall daily operations of the stores and warehouse, including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
- Maintain stores cleanliness, organization, and warehouse building maintenance.
- Oversee annual stock takes, cycle counts, and investigate stock shortages or stock outs.
- Ensure proper barcoding systems, scanners, and accurate bin location management.
- Supervise container unloading, stacking, and safe storage of materials.
- Oversee crane operations and crane/sling inspections.
- Ensure proper operation, inspections, and maintenance of forklifts and reach trucks, including battery charging systems.
- Monitor vehicle servicing and maintenance schedules.
- Conduct regular stores health and safety inspections and act as the 16.2 Representative.
- Ensure fire alarm awareness and reporting of safety issues.
- Manage and supervise all stores staff and drivers, including training, scheduling, and discipline.
- Coordinate dispatch, receiving, and late-shift logistics operations.
- Maintain oil container storage and general warehouse equipment maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Formal schooling / degree: Tertiary qualification in supply-chain/logistics/ basic stores keeping or related (preferred)
- Minimum 5 -10 years’ experience in warehouse or stores management.
- Forklift license required.
- Reach truck license advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge of warehouse equipment and operations.
- Experience with barcoding systems and scanning technology.
- Good computer literacy and administrative skills.
- Strong leadership and people management ability.
